February 2010

It is that time of year again! The month of February and my first set of tournaments is around the corner. Exciting!
January has been a good month of training, both in the gym and on the golf course. I have seen good improvement in my ball striking, putting and wedge game. Some more time will be spent around the greens in the next few weeks to really sharpen my short game before I go off to compete.
The weather has from time to time been a bit challenging with storms, on top of storms, hammering the California coast, causing some flooding and occasional closure of golf courses. When the weather is good here, it is really great, but when it goes bad, it sometimes gets really bad… During the days of heavy rainfall and strong winds, I have spent some extra time at the gym, and some extra time on the couch:-)
I will be heading to Phoenix in two weeks to play two events on the Cactus tour. It is a good place to get some competition in and get ready before the regular season on the Duramed Futures Tour starts up in Florida in March. As usual, I will post results, tee times and links on my website. This time around in Phoenix my friend Karin will join as well in the tournaments. Her season hasn’t really started yet either, so we are planning on combining some good weeks of competition and practice together. I can’t even remember when we were on a golf course together, at the same time, both playing or practicing… I bet I can still beat her in a short game challenge!
As my tournament season is coming closer, it is also time for you guys to sign up for this season’s Birdie Race! For all the newcomers, this is a way to support me through donating an amount of your own choice per birdie I make throughout the season. By signing up, you also have a chance of winning a new Rife putter, if you are the closest to guess the total number of birdies I make this year. More information and details on signing up is online on my website.
Enjoy the Sunshine!
